First Mate Miss Piggy
Straight from The Muppet Show’s classic sketch “Pigs in Space” comes First Mate Piggy. The multi-jointed vinyl figure was developed by Tonner Doll Company and is available from Sideshow Collectibles for about $160. The Miss Piggy figure stands 16″ tall and comes dressed in a shimmering knit dress complete with appliqued stars, embroidered “Pigs in Space” logo, and silver epaulets with matching faux leather belt. Silver tights, gloves, and zip-up boots also included, along with changeable wigs and painted facial features.

Sideshow Collectibles Gamorrean Guard Bust
Now up for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles is the life-size Gamorrean Guard Bust from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Standing over 17″ tall, each bust is highly detailed, individually painted and finished. The level of detail is really incredible, and perhaps a bit too detailed. Really, do we need the drool?
The estimated ship date is second quarter of 2010. Like all the other life-size busts from Sideshow Collectibles, this will be a limited edition piece, though the final number has not yet been determined.

Each stylized figure, designed by Three-B, captures the essence of the characters from the film and comes complete with trademark accessories. The set of vinyl figures includes an Alien, Predator and PredAlien. Sold separately for about $80 per piece, each figure stands over 8 inches tall. The Predator Super Deformed Vinyl Figure – Special Version also includes a switch-out portrait for masked or unmasked display.

Star Wars R2-D2 Bobble Head
Whether you have a thing for bobble heads or short droids with attitude, the new R2-D2 Bobble Head from Entertainment Earth may be just the droid you’re looking for. This 7-inch figure is scheduled for release in December 2009.

Quantum Mechanix Little Frakkin' Starbuck
Starting Friday, October 16, Quantum Mechanix will start taking orders for their new Little Frakkin’ Colonials and Little Frakkin’ Toasters from Battlestar Galactica. Up first in the line of limited-edition, animated maquettes are the Cylon Centurion and the indomitable Kara “Starbuck” Thrace. These 6″ figures are hand-painted and cast in resin, then individually numbered. Each statue is limited to only 1000 pieces. Based on an original design by Battlestar Galactica CG artist Dustin Adair (check out his animated short “We Were Centurions” at www.wewerecenturions.com).
