DC Direct has posted new images of the upcoming Dragon Age action figure series from DC Unlimited. Based on the 2009 video game Dragon Age: Origins from Electronic Arts, the new figure series captures four of the heroes and villains from the game. The action figures are approximately 6.5 inches tall and cost about $24 apiece. They are schedule for release on September 29, 2010, and available for pre-order now from several retailers and comic shops.
Coming exclusively to Entertainment Earth: the Star Trek Geological Tricorder. Inspired by the original TV series, Diamond Select designed and developed this detailed prop replica to match the production version as closely as possible. The Geological Tricorder features two opening compartments, adjustable shoulder strap, removable vials of mineral samples, blinking lights, a removable scanner with motion effects, and features the voice of Majel Barrett-Roddenberry as the computer. Shipping in July, this 1:1 scale replica retails for about $45.
Uncle Milton Industries is expanding their Star Wars Science collection this year, introducing several new sets in May and later in 2010. Included in the new lineup: Death Star Planetarium, Holographic Animation Lab, Lightsaber Room Light, and Mini Lightsaber Tech Lab. They are currently available for pre-order from BigBadToyStore.com and other online retailers. Many of the previously released Star Wars Science sets are also still available from BigBadToyStore and from Uncle Milton Industries directly.
Matt Smith, the latest incarnation in the Doctor Who series, has just hit the airwaves, and Underground Toys is right there with a new action figure set. The new Crash Set 2-pack features two highly detailed versions of the 11th Doctor from the episode “Eleventh Hour”. In one version, the figure is still wearing the ripped, tattered remains of the 10th Doctor’s suit following an explosion in the TARDIS; in the other version, the Doctor is sporting a tweed jacket, bow tie and boots pilfered from lockers at the local hospital. The set will be available this May from several retailers and sell for about $26.
The 5-inch figure also includes the Doctor’s new sonic screwdriver, though a bit hard to see the detail at such a small scale (a larger scale version of the new sonic screwdriver is also coming).
Available for pre-order from Entertainment Earth and other retailers. Retail price $25.99
