Michael Crawford, Captain Toy, has posted a great review of the Mars Attacks! Martians from Hot Toys on his site, MWCToys.com. From the 1996 movie Mars Attacks!, the Martian Soldier and Martian Ambassador figures are 1:6 scale, standing about 10-inches tall. With over 13 points of articulation, the poseable figures include several additional accessories and extras, including weapon, interchangeable hands, display stand, and more. Each retails for about $120.

Sideshow Collectibles AVATAR AMP Suit
Sideshow Collectibles has officially announced their licensing partnership with Twentieth Century Fox on the upcoming release of James Cameron’s AVATAR. They are also starting pre-orders for their first piece in the lineup, a 21 inch AMP Suit maquette, which is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2010.

McFarlane Toys Halo Spartan Soldier Recon
McFarlane Toys has announced that their Halo Series 6 figures will be landing in stores and online October 2009. The new “Medal Edition” series includes new characters, new weapons, plus 10 different collectible medals. The line includes the introduction of the highly desired Spartan Recon Armor, as well as the new “The Rookie” figure from Halo 3: ODST
. Other figures include Elite Shipmaster -RTAS ‘Vadumee, Brute Bodyguard, Flood Pure Form Stalker, white, blue, & teal Spartan EVAs, a red Grunt, an orange Spartan CQB, a steel Spartan Recon, a sage Spartan Hayabusa, and a gold Elite Assault.

One2One Collectibles Halo 1:2 Spartan Bust
One2One Collectibles has announced their latest Halo Collectibles addition, the Spartan 1:2 scale bust. This is the second in the line, following the September release of the Master Chief bust. Available now for pre-order, the bust is expected to ship later in 2009. Hand-sculpted, the 1:2 scale bust stands 12 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Cast in high-quality polystone, the bust is then hand painted with gold plating on the visor and the middle of the base. Production is limited to 650 pieces, so act fast if you’re interested in adding this to your collection. Additional busts in the Halo line will include Brute Chieftain and ODST Rookie, coming later in 2009.

Scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2010, each figure is individually painted and finished, along with a detailed, real fabric costume. Standing over 19 inches tall (with base) this is an impressive figure.
