May 25
For those that may have forgotten or didn’t realize (like me), May 25th is Towel Day; an annual, international celebration of the late Douglas Adams (author of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Dirk Gently, and others). To mark the occasion and honor his memory, you should carry a towel with you everywhere you go. In case you don’t have a towel (or don’t know where your towel is), ThinkGeek conveniently has one available for purchase with the ever-useful, and friendly, advice “Don’t Panic”. The simple, straightforward towel measures 27″ x 52″ and costs approximately $16. Alas, you won’t be able to get it in time for today (unless they have some interesting time-travel delivery option), but once it arrives you’ll be set for whatever life throws your way.
Available from ThinkGeek. Retail price $15.99

Now, all of your cookies kept in one place! The TARDIS cookie jar, available at ThinkGeek, solves all your cookie storage problems. OK, maybe not. Although the Doctor’s TARDIS may be infinitely bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, this cookie jar won’t quite offer that level of cookie storage. But it is pretty cool looking, and it even “talks” (alright, it makes neat sound effect noises). Let’s just hope it doesn’t dematerialize off your counter and show up in some distant part (or time) of the galaxy with all your Oreo cookies. Selling for about $27, this cookie containing contraption stands about 11 inches tall and uses 3 button cell batteries (which they are kind enough to include).

R2-D2 USB Humidifier
Winter got you feeling a little dry and unhappy? Perhaps the R2-D2 USB humidifier will help moisten and brighten your day. We mentioned this little gadget a few months ago, and now ThinkGeek is offering the trusty droid for about $20. The USB-powered desktop humidifier holds just a few ounces of water, so this won’t fill the whole house or office. But hey, why would you want to share? Pop his top, add water, plug him into your computer, and enjoy the misty goodness.

Sometimes it is awfully hard to avoid the seductive call of the dark side of the force, especially when cookies are involved. You know the kind, triple-chocolate with dark chocolate morsels. Mmm, cookies. Anyway, there is no better way to whip up a batch of dark side goodness than with the new kitchen apron from ThinkGeek featuring the simple invitation: “Come to the dark side. We have cookies -V”. The apron itself is a very slimming black with white lettering, about 30-inches long (not including the adjustable neck strap), 20-inches wide, and with two open-top pockets. Being bad never felt so good.

Kymera Magic Wand Remote
With a flick of the wrist and a wave of the wand, change the channel or adjust the volume of your TV set. The Kymera Magic Wand remote, available now from ThinkGeek, puts the power in your hands. You may not be able to disarm an opponent with this 14-inch wand, but you can program up to 13 functions from your existing remotes and map them to specific motions. Swish the remote side to side to change the channel; twist the wand to adjust the volume. Compatible with most electronics remotes, you can program functions for your TV, DVR, and more by simply performing the gesture and then beaming the remote at the tip of the remote.
Although Kymera Magic Wand remote does not use phoenix feathers or unicorn hairs to work its magic, neither does it use boring buttons to let you control your TV and stereo. And that is pretty cool.
Available from ThinkGeek and other retailers. Retail price $89.99
