123smile over at Etsy has created a fantastic selection of custom-made USB memory drives using original Star Wars Minifig LEGO’s. The drives are available in 2 GB ($59.95), 4 GB ($69.95) and 6 GB ($79.95) versions, in a variety of characters.
The combination of fun and practical is very appealing, and so much better than a flashlight or a pen. Although the USB drives are not an official licensed item, they really should be.

As I was browsing the web today, I kept coming across R2-D2 merchandise, like this desktop USB hub. Out of curiosity, I set out to see how many different ways the likeness of the spunky little robot has been used to create collectibles and kitsch, beyond just the action figures.
Over the course of an hour I found over two-dozen products, ranging from wacky to way cool. It is a bit sad to see the depths to which our noble, metal hero has sunk, though. I mean really, a tissue dispenser and soy sauce bottle?! R2 deserves so much better.
