Sideshow Collectibles has officially announced their licensing partnership with Twentieth Century Fox on the upcoming release of James Cameron’s AVATAR. They are also starting pre-orders for their first piece in the lineup, a 21 inch AMP Suit maquette, which is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2010.
The licensing agreement was first announced in July at the San Diego Comic-Con, but here is their official press release.
Sideshow Collectibles and Twentieth Century Fox are teaming up for a new line of product for the upcoming Fox film James Cameron’s “Avatar.” Sideshow, a world leader in the manufacturing of licensed and proprietary product, will produce Statues, Maquettes, Life-Size Busts and Dioramas, the first of which was recently unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con International. The action adventure film is written and directed by “Titanic” director, James Cameron and slated for release December 18th.
“The premium quality of Sideshow’s collectibles and their exemplary track record with movie licensing in the past makes them an ideal partner for ‘Avatar’,” said Lora Cohn, Vice President of Fox Licensing. “The first reveal at San Diego Comic-Con had fans eagerly wanting more, and we can’t wait to unveil the entire line.”
The AMP suite is available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles. Retail price $1199.99
